Song of Saturday

Before I could relax, I had to hang the laundry

Before I could hang the laundry, I had to water plants

(because the laundry rack blocks access to the plants)

Before I could water plants, I had to wash the dishes

(because I can’t fill the watering can in a sink full of bowls)

Before I could wash the dishes, I had to sweep the floor

And this is why it took an hour to hang the laundry.

But at least I had help.

I know your Saturday Song well. My version this morning:

I had to get the roast in early
Before I could make coffee, I had to do some dishes
Once I made the coffee, I had to let the roast sit
Before I could drink my coffee I had to season the roast (it was in front of the coffee)
Before I could put the roast in, I had to start the smoker
Before I could start the smoker, I had to move things around on the deck
Before I could drink my coffee, I had to wait for the smoker to fire up
When I put the roast in, I could get my coffee
Before I could drink my coffee, I had to move more things around the deck.
I got my coffee. The roast will reappear in about 10 hours.
