Grand Teton dawn

I intended to post a different wallpaper today, but then I stumbled across this one and it just knocked me out. It’s also a great example of how serendipity is often at least 75% preparation and only 25% luck. Says Matthew Potter, the photographer:

The “lighting of the candle” of the Grand Teton in Grand Teton National Park happens every day, yet some days are simply more astounding than others. I was taking photos at dawn with amazing colors in the clouds, which would have made a photo of an iconic place such as this an astounding picture by itself, when the herd of bison wandered in between me and my camera. It captures the essence of Wyoming, my home for the last 30 years, in all its glory.

Glory, indeed.

    Damn, I can’t see pictures of american national parks without getting the urge to visit them, a visit there is atop my bucket list.
