My parents just boarded a plane in Portland, Oregon to begin their looooong journey eastward, which will end here in Loulé. They’re spending three weeks with us, and I’m tickled beyond belief. It’s my mom’s second trip to Portugal, but my dad’s first — in fact, it’s his first trip to Europe. We plan to show them a great time.
So I’m watching the stats on the flight change as it inches its way across the map, and looking out the window at the torrential rain that keeps falling in between gusts of wind so strong that I had to go out and pull all of my plant pots off the veranda railings. The weather is supposed to be much better tomorrow, thank goodness. I’m sure today’s weather is our fault, because we cleaned our car yesterday.
At any rate, blogging is going to be sporadic for the next three weeks, depending on where we are and what we’re doing. I’ll check in when I can, and report on parental impressions of the food and activities. Hm, wonder if I can get my parents to try a salada de orelha de porco?
