Yellowstone river

Welcome to the Grand Canyon — of the Yellowstone, that is. This is in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. The little hint of rainbow and the mist in the air tells us that we’re looking downstream from a big waterfall.

Added to The List. I was in this park at about age 7, but that doesn’t count.

This photo brings back wonderful memories of a winter spent in Montana. I was near the park and made several trips there in the late fall and winter. By my opinion, that’s the time to go – virtually no crowds to contend with and the cool air accentuates the steam from the geysers. I hope you get to visit. It’s a remarkable place geologically, but also the biology is fascinating – study up on your cyanobacteria before you go.

The greatest treasure the US has is it’s National Parks, if I won Euromillions, one of the first things to do is to visit them all. Have a Jed Bartlett style love for the US National parks.
