Wallpaper Monday

Sanctuary

This week’s wallpaper is a departure in that it’s located nowhere in particular…and anywhere you want it to be. Drawn by tschultze using Photoshop and Vue, it’s titled “Sanctuary” and demonstrates the artist’s belief that “everyone could use a place to just, get away.”

There is also a version featuring a cloudy sky, if that better matches your mood.

    Absolutely beautiful.

NOT RECOMMENDED: Spend 30 hours in a cave (though that part was wonderful), drive 6 hours back home, sleep for 3 hours, and then go to work to sort and move 1200 lbs of recycling by hand.

    I’m just a little tired and sore….

Oh well… I know it’s a painting, but the photographer within me cries “Bad fake!” With a full moon low on the horizon, the sun should be low under the horizon — but 180° around! Artistic freedom and all that, to me this just looks wrong.

Wow, good catch. I assumed that was moon glow — since there are no clouds higher in the sky to reflect the light, it made sense that the low clouds would. But after your comment I looked more closely, and you’re right, that light is coming up from beneath, not down from above.

Well, artistic freedom and all that — but still, let’s have a little accurate astronomy here!
