What you do not want to happen to your Canon 5D Mk II

…and its 16–35 f/2.8 L II lens: You do not want it to be collected by a curious lioness.

Such was the fate of Ed Hetherington’s camera kit, after he set it up near the lioness’ kill. The interesting part is that she carried it so gently that she only dented it in one place. Apparently she plays well with her toys.

Hetherington’s tale, and the rest of the photos (which are both impressive and amusing, particularly the “artistic picture of her poop”), is on his Facebook page.

Yummy Canon

That guy must have a lot of money and too much gear if he can afford to put a camera like that out where just anybody could come along and swipe it. 😉

Wellllll… if you knew upfront your camera would survive?? It’s such a cool story afterwards.

Seriously though.. no i wouldn’t risk it. But still a cool story.
