Bungle Bungle Range

Here’s one particularly well-suited to a widescreen monitor: the Bungle Bungle Range in Purnulu National Park, Western Australia. (Actually about as far east as you can get in Western Australia.)

This photo is courtesy of the 11 September Astronomy Picture of the Day, which points out that the Bungle Bungles are about 350 million years old. The Milky Way, of course, is a bit older. (Ten billion years, give or take.)

About Fletcher DeLancey

Socialist heathen and Mac-using author of the Chronicles of Alsea, who enjoys pondering science, politics, well-honed satire (though sarcastic humor can work, too) and all things geeky.
