High altitude bullring

Monsaraz 24

I’ve been to Monsaraz once before, but somehow I managed to miss the rather prominent bullfighting ring on the south end of the village. Good heavens! There were bullfights up there? In this small, walled fortress of a village high up on a hilltop? Half of the battle must have been just getting the bulls up the hill and into the ring.

Portugal keeps surprising me. Even when I go back to the same places, I find new things.
