Kew Gardens

Of course I must post a wallpaper from London, now that we’re home. This is the Waterlily House at Kew Gardens, one of several glorious greenhouses designed to overwhelm any gardener with bliss. I love Kew’s greenhouses. Actually I love Kew Gardens, period. The peaceful greenery is so soothing after the noise and bustle and pavement of London. An unexpected bonus to the visit: my stepson had never seen so much grass in his entire life. He spent hours happily running around, playing with sticks and his new trick paper airplane (purchased at the Science Museum). We thought he might be bored, but it turns out that simply having the freedom to run over grass was all he needed. Well, that and the carnivorous plant section. Meat-eating plants are practically guaranteed to fascinate little boys.
