Photo caption of the day

Usually it’s the Guardian that makes me laugh with snarky little headlines and photo captions, but today it’s the BBC, writing an article about how male bumblebees gather on hilltops to look for females. Their caption for the above photo:

Males spend their lives drinking and looking for mates.

Indeed. Are we talking about bumblebees?

Seems like a lot of creatures are like that…

They could even have said “Lazy males spend their lives sitting around, drinking and looking for mates” if you read carefully the article.
I suppose the author (Ella is her name) didn’t want us to know immediately what she was referring to … :p
No offense intended, hé, guys ! 🙂

Well, I’m gonna go take a drink in the fridge, lazing around on my recliner and watching the beach-goers coming back to their vehicles …
    And no, I’m not a male …. :p

I loved this article. As a beekeeper I so look forward to fall when the worker bees (all females) kick the drones (all males) off the couch. LOL

one of my great-uncles is a beekeeper, and the other day my grandma brought me a whole honeycomb sent by him. Yummy 🙂 Nothing like chewing on bee wax and sucking that precious honey out.
