Happiness is…

…breaking out the shorts and t-shirt five days before the official start of spring. I think I may actually have produced a bead of sweat while reading on the veranda today.

Also, the house martins have arrived! To heck with the calendar, martins mean spring. And did I mention that the pyramid orchids are in bloom? It’s a great time to be in the Algarve.

Another sign of spring: the explosion of British tourists in shorts, sandals, and black socks. Here they come…

Super jealous. Still in the throes of the worst winter in nearly forty years in Ontario Canada. Also, it may be cabin fever talking because it’s too frigging cold to leave the house for anything other than supplies or work, but I read the house martini’s had arrived, not the house martins, and that made me even more jealous :) Side note, I haven’t seen a bird outside since January…it’s just been too cold here. Enjoy your pre-Spring Spring! Hopefully ours will be here by July ;)

You have my sympathy for your weather. I’ve a friend in Toronto and her reports have curled my toenails — ice storms and 10 days without power and snowfall after snowfall. Do you people even remember what it feels like to have a temperature above zero?

At any rate, I laughed at your house martinis. I would definitely try one of those.

I speak for the population of the GTA when I strongly suggest that, no, we do not remember temperatures above freezing. As evidence, I offer the fact the I felt it necessary and entirely reasonable to open my sunroof this afternoon on the way home from work to let in the warmth and the glorious sun. The temperature today??? A blistering three degrees Celsius.

Rain, rain, rain. I’m sick of flipping rain. I want sun!

Yes, this is happiness indeed! After countless rainy days, spring has arrived suddenly in Madrid. Bright sunshine, blossoming trees, singing birds… I feel happy! :-)

Oh my, what a photo! I better don’t comment on those legs. :D
