In Rauma, Norway is a road called Trollstigen — the Troll’s Footpath. It’s quite a tourist attraction due to the spectacular views (including a 320-meter waterfall), and includes eleven hairpin turns on a 9% grade.
Looking at this, the first thing I think is, “Ooo, what a bike road!”
Apparently there are a lot of cars traversing this road during the high tourist season. But Norway would be missing a bet if they didn’t close it down for at least one day per year and let the cyclists go nuts on it. It would draw cyclists from around the world.
And yes, in this instance, by “cyclists” I mean “temporarily insane people.” But I’d do it.

And my first thought was, “Oooo, what a beautiful u-shaped valley,” courtesy of a glacier in Earth’s recent past. There are probably some spectacular hanging valleys not shown in this view.
Good point. In fact, without seeing it, I’d bet that 320-meter waterfall is flowing out of a hanging valley.
It is a bike road!
A couple of years ago we went up there by car several times, drivers must slow down because most of it is single-track road. No need to close it down, we spent at least half an hour watching cyclists having fun. And we took *many* photos… Norway is such a beautiful country!
