I’m currently in Lisboa, enjoying a city fix (which started out this morning with two pasteis de Belém — so sinfully yummy). After spending half the day walking along the Rio Tejo, I decided that today’s wallpaper needed to reflect what I was seeing.
A short search online resulted in this image, created by a local photographer who has put together some amazing HDR photos. Normally, HDR is used to create the perfect exposure of an image, but Joaquim Gisewski has used it as an art form. His photos are no longer photos, but stylized representations of landscapes that carry quite a visual punch.
Check out his Castelo de São Jorge and his coastal scene at Peniche, too. Wonderful use of the technique!
